Here's Our Story

Phoenix did not simply happen over night. Phoenix isn't just a gym, it's a whole lot more than that.

The Founders

Trevor and Jay are both businessmen who have worked high up within corporate chains. Both have a passion for the gym, especially with regard to what it can do for you both physically and mentally.

So, of course, when Jay went to Trevor one evening with a bright idea, Trevor was totally on board.

The sentence, "Hey dad, how about we open a gym together?" was all it took.

Wellingborough - right at the start

In November 2021, Jay and Trevor got the keys to the gym and could officially step foot in the building as owners.

It was not surprising the amount of work that was required, but it was surprising the poor conditions members were having to put up with. Trevor and Jay were extremely excited to flip the place upside down and give Wellingborough a gym that they could be proud of attending and more importantly had the basics that every gym required.

Changes happened straight away and ever since, changes take place all of the time.

Phoenix is an ever evolving company and gym space and it's a space where it welcomes it's members to evolve too.

From A Chain to Independent

When the gym reopened it's doors in November 2021, it was still a part of a well known chain. In Summer 2023, in a turn of events, the gym became independent and the start of the best journey began.

The Phoenix name was finally put above the door and so many positive changes took place in a short space of time. The introduction of the new colour scheme, LED lights, a whole new range of equipment and a layout that was specific to the vision of Phoenix Gyms.

In the first half of 2024, a new dedicated leg room was created and unveiled to the members. In the Summer, the introduction of Phoenix Labs took place. A dedicated shop for your gym supplements, gym attire and everything in between, with new lines being added all of the time.
